Rotomolding Process Cycle

For general rotational mould factory, Rotomolding Process Cycle includes three main stages. First, plastic powder or liquid resin is added into the mould, then the mould is slowly rotated along two axes in a heating furnace, so that the plastic evenly covers the inner wall of the mould and gradually melts. Finally, the mould is cooled, and the plastic is solidified and formed into the final product such as rotational molding furniture.

Difficulties of Rotomolding Process

First, it is a challenge to ensure that the rotational plastic is evenly distributed in the mold, because uneven distribution can lead to inconsistent product wall thickness. Second, it is crucial to control the time and temperature of heating and cooling. Overheating or improper cooling will affect the strength and appearance of rotomolded products. Third, the mold design is complex and needs to take into account the fluidity of the plastic and the shape of the final product, which places high demands on the design ability of engineers. Fourth, material selection is also critical. Different rotational plastics behave differently during heating and cooling, and process parameters need to be precisely controlled. Fifth, the rotomolding process has high requirements for equipment, especially the accuracy and stability of rotating equipment and heating furnaces. Sixth, the demolding process of the product also needs to be handled carefully to avoid damaging the product or mold.
